As part of the Manchester City Council Clean City project, 40 of the city’s parks – including Chorlton Park, seen here on the right – are to benefit from £1.5m funding coming out of the profits from the Greater Manchester local authorities’ stake in the Manchester Airport group. The Manchester Evening News covered the story, and Radio Manchester contacted Whalley Range councillor Angeliki Stogia, in her capacity as Assistant Executive Member for Sport, Leisure and the Arts to discuss some questions arising from the news.
