Thanks to all who came and contributed…

refugee-event… to our very special event last night to raise money for Refugee Education. Some donations are still coming in, and we’ll update this post with the total when we have it. Special thanks to Mike, JP and Damian in the band, to Laurence the DJ, to Shiasta for the food, to the Carlton Club for hosting, to speakers Madeleine Bailey (from Darfur School / Help Refugees), Sue Cockerill (from Refugee Aid Chorlton) and Mike Kane MP, to Whalley Range Councillor Mary Watson for compering, and above all to everyone who came (Labour and non-Labour members alike) and gave so generously, while hopefully having a great time.

Education for refugees – a special event on 3rd December

ecole-darfourWhalley Range Labour is proud to host an event in support of refugee education, with all funds raised going to the charity Help Refugees. It’s from 7pm to 10pm on Saturday 3rd December at the Carlton Club, 113 Carlton Road, Whalley Range M16 8BE; admission is £5 for non-members and free for Labour Party members with cards (though donations of course will be very welcome!). Summer social event on Saturday 20th August

It’s on Saturday 20th August from 4pm to 9pm at Rick and Alison’s house at 125 College Road (M16 0AA); if you want to continue after 9, there are some good bars at the end of the road.
