Whalley Rangers and Alex Park up for more awards

The great work by local volunteers in the Whalley Rangers group has been recognised with the shortlisting of the group as finalist in two categories of the ‘Be Proud‘ Awards, organised by Manchester City Council. The ceremony will be held at the Town Hall on 24th November.

Meanwhile Alexandra Park is in the running for Best Park (North West), awarded by Fields In Trust. You can vote for the park using this link – polling closes at 5pm this Friday (3rd November).

Whalley Rangers launch Flytipping Watch campaign

The Whalley Range Labour team are out every week talking to local residents about the issues that concern them. One of the most frequent problems raised on the doorstep is littering and flytipping, especially in the alleyways around Cromwell Avenue and Clarendon Road.
Whalley Rangers have launched a new Flytipping Watch campaign, with the full support of the City Council and the Biffa Waste Collection team. It will get underway on Bury Avenue on Friday 3rd February followed by York and Cromwell Avenues and Milton Grove. Continue reading
