It’s official folks! Sir Keir Starmer’s revitalised Labour Party has won the 2024 General Election by a historic landslide! Rishi Sunak has conceded defeat and is on his way to London to see the King. Further pluses, are the Minister for the 18th Century Jacob Ree Smogg, has suffered the nights major ‘Portillo moment’, losing his seat to Labour.
Other notable losses so far are those of Penny Mordaunt, Mark Harper, Gillian Keegan and Grant Shapps. At the time of writing, there’s confusion in Liz Truss‘ race to be returned to the Commons, with reports filtering through of her demanding a recount! Jess Phillips clung onto her Birmingham Yardley seat by less than 800 votes, after a stiff challenge from the Workers Party candidate, in a campaign dominated by the ongoing situation in Palestine. The Lib Dems have won a record number of seats, in a crushing night for Rishi Sunak.
After 14 years of austerity, Brexit, sleaze, economic mismanagement and the decimation of our Public Services, the UK electorate has had their say on a decade and a half of Tory rule. The people have said ‘No More’ and given the CONservatives a General Election bludgeoning!
However, the Hurculean task to repair broken Britain starts today. It’s a daunting task, but it’s one that Labour MPs, Councillors, delegates, and party workers have worked hard for, so we can better serve the people of the UK. Today is day one of a new dawn for the United Kingdom. Labour will not let you down!
It’s official! Labour wins Election 2024 by a landslide!
