The Manchester Rusholme Constituency Labour Party (CLP) Executive Committee, will hold its first meeting since the General Election, on Thursday 18th July 2024 at 19.00. The meeting will be held via Zoom and will give the Executive its first chance to congratulate our Parliamentary MP Afzal Khan on his successful return to the Commons.
There will be little time for General Election victory celebrations, because of the growing scale of the task in front of us to repair the broken Britain the Tories left behind. On the agenda will be a Parliamentary report from Afzal, and opportunites to propose motions for the Labour Party Conference to be held in September.
This is an important opportunity for the Executive to relay the wishes and concerns of the Rusholme Manchester Constituents to our MP, so these can be fed into the urgent Parliamentary discussions regarding the wider issues facing the United Kingdom. Labour’s task won’t be easy, but it’s a huge undertaking that we fought to have bestowed upon us, as we wholeheartedly believe we can do better for Britain than the previous Government.
We will of course keep you updated with developments resulting from the Executive Committee meeting. Afzal Khan MP can be contacted by email at afzal.khan.mp@parliament.uk.
