The Celebrate Festival Exhibition lit up the JNR8 Community Centre, showcasing arts, photography, and the launch of a community cookery zine. Local groups including Time to Change, the Clean Air Group and the Whalley Range Women’s Group shared work that highlighted the creativity and diversity of our neighbourhood.
Residents also enjoyed a tapestry created by pupils from Our Lady’s Primary, St Margaret’s, and Manley Park schools, who took part in fun half term workshops in textile appliqué and embroidery. The artwork will be displayed across all three schools in the months ahead.
Councillor Aftab Razaq said: “It was a pleasure to see the creativity of local children and community groups shining through in the exhibition. Whalley Range is at its best when we come together to celebrate.”
Councillor Angeliki Stogia added: “From arts to cookery, photography to textiles, the Celebrate festival shows how diverse voices and talents make our area thrive. A huge thank you to everyone who made it possible. The Celebrate festival continues to be a highlight of the summer calendar – a true celebration of community spirit.”
