Whalley Range resident Kate Macdonald, who lives on Brantingham Road, is running in this year’s Greater Manchester Marathon (tomorrow), followed by the London Marathon on 26 April. She often trains in Alexandra Park, where the sports facilities received a welcome revamp in the recent £5 million restoration (which was partly funded by Manchester City Council).
Kate (seen here in the park with Councillor Aftab Razaq) says “Thanks to the hard work and achievement of the Friends of Alexandra Park and the support of local councillors, our park has a new lease of life in 2015 and a sustainable future. It provides much-needed sports and recreation facilities for everyone who lives in our area, especially young people”.
