Aftab Razak Wins For Labour In Whalley Range Election

Aftab Razaq wins For labour in Whalley Range!

Aftab says “I’m really grateful to all my supporters for this tremendous victory. Angeliki, Mary and I will continue to work hard for all the residents of Whalley Range”. Sir Gerald Kaufman also won for Labour in Manchester Gorton constituency with an increased majority – see this page for all the Manchester election results. Labour also won all 31 of the other Council seats contested in Manchester.

Of course, the national result has been tremendously disappointing for all Labour supporters. This makes it all the more pleasing that Manchester, Gorton and Whalley Range have all remained true to Labour values.

The polls closed at 10pm yesterday and the ballots were counted this afternoon. The results in the council election in Whalley Range on a turnout of 63.5% were:

BROWN, RhonaLiberal Democrats590
