Whalley Range Labour - Councillors New Waste Bins

New Bins Rolled Out Across Whalley Range

Whalley Range has started receiving new litter bins as part of Manchester’s drive to create cleaner, greener neighbourhoods. This rollout is part of the city’s £15 million Clean and Green Manchester programme, which aims to combat littering by providing residents and visitors with accessible, well-maintained waste disposal options throughout the city. Over the next three years, more than 2,300 litter bins will be replaced across Manchester.

In addition to the new bins, the Clean and Green programme will fund new benches, repairs to playgrounds, and improvements to make green spaces more accessible. This comprehensive approach is designed to enhance community wellbeing and promote responsible waste disposal.

Councillor Angeliki Stogia said, “The old bins were in poor condition, some were damaged or vandalised. Let’s make the most of the new ones and dispose of our waste responsibly to keep Whalley Range clean and green.”

Councillor Bano encouraged residents to make use of the new bins, which feature Manchester’s iconic bee symbol. “These bins represent our city’s unity and hardworking spirit. Let’s all do our part by using them to keep Whalley Range clean.”
