Whalley Range Labour - Cllr Angeliki Stogia - Carlton Club Eviction

Open Letter to Carlton Social and Bowling Club Building Company Ltd

Councillors have been contacted by constituents across Whalley Range, who are alarmed by the eviction decision affecting the Carlton Social and Bowling Club. The club, which has been a hub of the local community at Rowan Lodge for over 111 years, is now facing an eviction notice from the Building Company that owns the property.

The notice, effective September 2024, reveals plans for the company to use the premises for its own business operations, raising significant concerns about the future of a facility that has long supported social activities and community engagement.

Cllr Angeliki Stogia has issued an open letter to the Building Company, requesting a meeting to discuss the eviction notice and explore potential solutions. The aim is to collaborate on finding a resolution that best serves the interests of the local community and addresses the concerns surrounding the Carlton Club’s future.
